Hi all! It’s been a while since I’ve posted on here. I’ve been going through different ideas in my head about what my purpose in having this blog is and how I want to ultimately use it for good. I’ve been thinking about ways to shift my focus solely from a healthy food blog to more of an overall wellness site. I want to share my passions, thoughts and struggles as a mid-twenty something with the hopes of empowering others who are in similar life stages.
I am still SO passionate about food and helping people with their relationships with food. I love giving people advice and tips on how to cook food that tastes good while also being good for you, but also teaching people how to give themselves grace and freedom when it comes to food. Life’s too short to not say yes to ice cream.
While I love talking about food, I also want to have this space be about more than that, like my adventures with these two cuties.
And hiking Half Dome with my family (quite possibly the most beautiful view in the world).
Over the past two years since graduating college my thoughts and dreams have shifted. I’ve been realizing more and more that I really don’t have any control over my life and THAT’S OK. I’ve stopped looking ahead to future life stages and learned to be fully content and happy where I am right now. My relationship with God has grown so much over these past few years and I am so so grateful for his redeeming love and grace upon my life. In times of brokenness, pain, stress and insecurities I have learned to lay down my burdens upon He who has everything in his control. Letting go has given me the freedom to ENJOY my life, to eat when I’m hungry, to exercise when it feels right and to rest when it’s needed, to stay up late, sleep in, enjoy a glass of wine with friends, and be content in who I am as a beloved daughter, friend, sister, girlfriend and dog owner.
My goal for this blog is for it to be a refreshing space, something that brings joy to those who read it, something that can challenge people, pose new questions, share thoughts on life happenings and in all point everything back to Jesus.
Also…I recently moved to San Diego and I’m so excited about it! I think it will be a great change of pace, a time to explore, go to allll the coffee shops and really dig into the community here. I’m excited to share more about life here, restaurants and adventures. Hope you’re along for the ride!
